The victim’s husband, Ricardo Naawan said that his wife could not have died if he did not leave her, adding that their eight children could not have saved their mother because they were too young.

One of the children, an eight-year-old and second eldest among the siblings, said their mother refused to be brought to the hospital without their father.

Upon hearing his wife’s condition, Ricardo said he immediately rushed home from the restaurant at the town center where he watched the “Firepower” fight between Pacquiao and Cotto.

He admitted having too complacent to worry about his wife’s conditions since she had been expected to give birth next month.

In Cagayan de Oro, meanwhile, a fight between two Pacquiao fans resulted to the stabbing of a 22-year-old man, police said.

Investigators at the Police Precinct 5 said that the victim, Ronnel dela Cruz, a resident of Barangay Puntod had an argument with suspect Rico Namoc about the outcome of the fight.

The victim was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). Doctors said the victim survived the stab.

Seven, however, were reported dead after suffering from cardiac arrest while watching the bout.

Four of the dead boxing aficionados hail from the cities of Butuan, Batangas, Talisay, and Cebu while three were residents of Davao region.

Reports identified them as Atillano Caneda, 67, from Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City; 53-year-old Rolando Sala of Cebu City; Concordio Paredes, 72, of Butuan City; 62-year-old Cecilio Cabrera of Batangas City; Vicente Bernal of Carmen, Davao del Norte; Lord Espina of Bansalan, Davao del Sur; retired police officer Jose Paco of Davao City.
