Saudi needs 6T Pinoy health workers

THE Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia urgently needs at least 6,400 qualified Filipino medical workers.

Ann Apasra Abas, officer-in-chare of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Regional Extension Unit in Cagayan de Oro, said the workers would be hired through the POEA under a government-to-government hiring.

Positions needed are 3,000 female general nurses and 2,000 female specialized nurses with area of specializations in intensive care unit (ICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), hemodialysis, operating room, MS, emergency room and cardiac care.

Also needed are 200 male and female specialists; 200 male and female general practitioners; 200 female assistant pharmacists; 200 female physiotherapists; 200 female dental assistants; 200 female medical technologists; 100 female infection control nurses and 100 male and female respiratory therapists.

Qualified are those BS graduates with board license (optional for respiratory therapists); with at least 1 ½ years of hospital experience; and not more than 65 years old for doctors and not more than 40 years old for other positions.

Also needed in Saudi Arabia are 50 male bio-medical equipment technicians or hospital safety officers who are preferably BS Engineering graduates; with or without board license; with at least two years hospital work experience; and not more than 50 years of age.
