Auto Planet wins Oro Aces caging

PAIRED against players young enough to be called their children, the veterans-laced Auto Planet dribblers proved once again that playing time was not a problem when everyone in the team trusted each other.

The 17-man Auto Planet on Sunday banked on cohesive team-work effort to surprise Xavier University (XU) Batch 2001, 82-78, and won the championship of the 2013 Oro Aces Invitational basketball tournament here at the Acsat gym. Auto Planet got the P5,000 top purse plus trophy for their feat.

Oro Pistolero holds 2nd shootfest, June 22-23

AROUND 200 shooting enthusiasts from all over Northern Mindanao region are set to vie for honors in the 2nd Oro Pistolero Shooting Competition on June 22-23 at the PNP Shooting Range in nearby town of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.

THE University of San Carlos–Basic Education Department (USC-BED) wants the Dynamo FC stripped of its 11-under title for allegedly fielding ineligible players in the 13th Cebu Interclub Football Cup.

Dennis Peñalosa, Dynamo FC coach, did not issue a comment when contacted by Sun.Star Cebu but instead referred the matter to the Cebu Amateur Football Club, which organized the tournament. However, CAFC president Greg Balsicas couldn’t be reached at press time.

Asset ‘fun run’ set on May 19
