FORMER NBC coach Andy Calingin marks his return to the limelight in Saturday's opening of the NBTC-D league here at Xavier University gym.
Fresh from guiding the Corpus Christi Knights to a friendly game victory over the Xavier University (XU) Junior Crusaders during the XU Days, Calingin and the CCS "Knightmares" will go against Bukidnon-Faith right after the 8:30 a.m. preliminary match between Indahag and SPC teams.

"It's nice to be back. I'm almost 10 years away from my first love, but you can never, ever put a great man down. I'm here to enjoy basketball once again and help develop young and promising dribblers in the locality," said Calingin as he acknowledged CCS owner Dr. Alfonso del Fierro Jr. and fellow coaches Hermogenes Anciado and Pastor Richard Tangara for giving him the break.
The youthful bench tactician, who first revolutionized basketball development in Misamis Oriental when his father (Bong) was still the governor, is expected to rely on the troika of Oliver Lim, Tristan Maputol and Kenneth Obedencio in the CCS bid to hurdle the opening round challenge.
Title favorite Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School and host XU also formed part the exciting NBTC-D caging alongside St. Mary's School, Immanuel Mission School, Shekinah Glory, City High, Pilgrim Christian College, AMS, Kong Hua and St. Joseph.
