Teodoro: Arroyo supports me

PRESIDENTIAL candidate Gilbert Teodoro said he has no reason to doubt President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's support for his candidacy.

Teodoro said the fact that he is Arroyo's candidate negates doubt of her support for him as Lakas-Kampi-CMD's bet for president.

“And if assuming I am not (her choice of candidate), still I am the standard bearer of (Lakas),” Teodoro told reporters in a press conference held at the Provincial Capitol during his visit Wednesday.

Teodoro also shrugged off various speculations, particularly pertaining to a text message on alleged plans of the administration to cheat during the election.

He said there is no truth to rumors that Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzalez will manage this cheating with the help of General Delfin Bangit, newly installed chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and General Romeo Prestoza, head of the Intelligence Service of the AFP (ISAFP).

The alleged cheating, dubbed as “Project Fullmoon,” will allegedly work in favor of Senator Manny Villar. Several names were mentioned as having a role in the cheating, including a computer expert/hacker who will allegedly do the switching of the prepared compact disc.

Teodoro said anybody can fabricate information through text. He dubbed the message circulating through text as unreliable and hard to believe, and is propaganda created by other parties.

“I won’t let myself become a victim of cheating,” Teodoro said.
