DIFFERENT events organizers and suppliers in Cebu grouped together to form a one-stop shop that answers the public’s demand for convenience.
Called the House of Events, it combines 10 events service suppliers who have managed their individual businesses for more than six years. They initially tied up in August this year.

By bringing together services being offered to marrying couples, companies with corporate events and individuals with parties and other activities, the group hopes to spare its clients from the hassles of getting separate suppliers on their own, said photographer Michael Manabat of Stealshots.
“This will make it easy for the customers (plus) we have packages with reasonable prices tailored to meet their needs,” added videographer Joey Rivera of Digital Minds.
Multi-talented
The House of Events core group is composed of Techie Domingo (coordination), Ma-nabat (photography), Maricel Capon (Stringed Ensemble, music and entertainment), and Rivera (videography).
Its member-suppliers are Sam Malto (gowns), Hans Coquilla (gowns), Sam Guido (souvenirs), Jill Uy (cakes), Annalee Yu (flowers), and Juliet Ligan (fireworks).
Rivera said that a client will still have the option to get their own supplier for a particular aspect of the wedding, like having his mother bake the cake for his wedding.
He said he knew of several overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who wanted to marry in the country but lacked the time to prepare for the big day. They would get a reliable organizer and suppliers here, and communicate over the phone.
While the bulk of the events they handle are weddings, House of Events wants to increase the share of corporate events in their inventory, said coordinator Domingo of Conceptz Unlimited.
Expansion plans
Their participation in the three-day Kasalang Filipino in the Ayala Center Cebu starting this Friday will be one way of promoting the business, she added.
They also get clients through recommendations from satisfied clients.
Manabat said that what sets House of Events apart from other one-stop shops for events are its member-suppliers who are considered major players in the events industry in Cebu.
Rivera said the group hopes to cater to clients outside Cebu.
House of Events liaison officer Kim Marie Vasquez-Manabat said they are also planning to invite more suppliers to the group.
