THE two gas pump boys have not returned to work since Friday after their encounter with Joavan Fernandez last week.
The police believe the absence of Rodel Requina, 19, and Rolando Nara, 20, in their workplace indicated that they fear for their safety and they do not wish to cross paths again with the son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez.

Talisay City Police Station Chief Henry Binas sent an investigator to the Shell gas station yesterday to get the affidavits of the gas attendants.
But Biñas said the gas station supervisor told police that the two, both residents of Dalaguete, Cebu, had not returned to work since Friday.
“The supervisor of the two pump boys assured, though, to inform me when they go back to work,” he said.
Biñas said again that the police cannot do anything if Requina and Nara decide not to pursue their complaint against Joavan.
Joavan reportedly got irked after the two refused to gas up his Mitsubishi Pajero on credit past midnight Friday for lack of a note from his father.
Joavan reportedly whacked the forehead of Requina with his cellular phone and kicked Nara but missed.
But upon the call of the mayor, the gas station’s cashier ordered the attendants to refuel Joavan’s vehicle.
The mayor later came and paid the fuel cost reportedly amounting to P3,000.
But apart from paying the fuel cost, Socrates also appealed to the gas attendants not to make a big fuss out of their encounter with Joavan.
The mayor, though, insisted that he never took advantage of his position to free Joavan from his series of brushes with the law.
