“We owe to our consumers the success of the company and because of this we will be introducing more products,” he said.
Psalmstre Enterprises Inc. is a family-owned company that manufactures health and beauty products. Although its plants are located in Manila, Psalmstre began its operation with its first office in Cebu in 2000.
Among its existing products are whitening soaps such as Placenta and Olive-C. The company also exports these products to Riyadh, Dubai and Hong Kong.
“The products that we will be introducing to the market this year are in addition to the existing product lines we have. We will be introducing more soaps, creams, shampoo and food supplements,” he said. The food supplements, Acosta said, will be for the liver and diabetes.
He said the company decided to add more products because of the performance of the health and beauty industry.
Aside from new products, the company also plans to open a marketing office in Hong Kong this year.
“Our products are already in Hong Kong and we think that there is a need to put up an office to cater to the growing market of consumers,” he said.
He said the company is also considering putting up offices in the United States and Europe.
Acosta said they are hoping to export food supplements this year.
Although Acosta described 2009 as a challenging year for the business due to the typhoons that hit Manila during the last quarter of the year, the company is still optimistic sales will double this year.
Psalmstre has eight branches nationwide and employs 150 workers. Acosta said they are planning to expand this year.
