Benologa, Rojo in Class B finals

DARK HORSE PJ Benologa and Abraham Rojo arranged a finals showdown in the Class B division of the Sun.Star Superbalita 9-Ball Challenge this Sunday at the E-Mall Activity Center.

After winning his quarterfinal round, 9-6, Benologa blanked Alfred Papa, 9-1, to bag the first finals seat, while Rojo defeated Chua in the other semifinal, 9-3.

The two will join the finalists in the high school and elementary contests for this Sunday’s finals, together with the championship round of the elite Class A division.

Rojo also defeated former high school champion Marvin Gentapa, 9-4, in the quarterfinals, while Papa outlasted Joel Malaki, 9-6.
To reach the semis, Chua defeated Serio Arriba, 9-6.

Close to P300,000 in prizes are at stake in the Superbalita 9-Ball Open, which is considered as the biggest tournament in the South.
