Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.
Copyright protects the manner in which ideas are expressed, not the ideas themselves.
Under Section 175 of the Intellectual Property Code, an idea is not protected by copyright. Hence, the idea alone about star-crossed lovers coming from warring families is not protected until such idea is expressed in the form of a novel, play, short story, poem, motion picture, song, painting, or other form of literary or artistic creation. Copyright-protected works are protected by the sole fact of their creation, irrespective of their mode or form of expression, as well as of their content, quality, and purpose.
