Chamber begins search for its 2012 awardees

NOMINATIONS are now being accepted for the 17th Grand Chamber Awards of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

The awards are meant to recognize and highlight entrepreneurs who are key players in making businesses flourish in Cebu. It also aims to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs to emulate the character and excellence the awardees exemplify.

To qualify for the 17th Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the nominee must be the owner or manager of the private or public company under which he/she is being nominated. The nominee must be primarily responsible for the recent performance of the company.
Criteria

The CCCI is seeking nominees who:

• demonstrate leadership and perseverance in the face of adversity;
• foster teamwork and build loyalty among personnel;
• demonstrate innovativeness in their product and/or service;
• lives out integrity in the area of business competition;
• practices corporate social responsibility;
• demonstrates an exceptional track record based on the company’s present financial performance.
The nominees’ company must have been in operation for the number of years specified in each category. Other awards to be given are:
• Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, for those in companies less than three years in operation;
• Young Entrepreneur of the Year, for nominees 35 and younger;
• Socially Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year;
• Environmentally Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year;
• Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year, for companies whose asset size ranges from P3 million to P15 million; and
• Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year.

Self-nominations are encouraged. Special citations will also be given to companies and organizations in specific industry categories.

The Board of Judges for the Grand Chamber Awards will be composed of CCCI’s Council of Advisers, composed of five of the chamber’s past presidents, and directors from the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Tourism.
