NOMINATIONS for the Asean ICT Awards (AICTA) 2012 are now open.
That was revealed by ICT Office Commissioner Monchito Ibrahim yesterday during the ICT/BPO Conference in Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu.
Ibrahim is urging the ICT councils of the Philippines to submit entries and show the “best of the Philippines” with this award.
The Philippines is the host country for the AICTA Ceremony on Nov. 16, which will be held in Mactan.
Entry forms can be downloaded at www.aseanictaward.com. The deadline of the submission of entries is on Aug 15.
The AICTA 2012 is divided into five categories: public sector, private sector, corporate social responsibility, digital content and start-up company.
The public sector can submit any application software, hardware or its combination that has helped government processes and operations become efficient and transparent.
The private sector, meanwhile, can submit applications that have served the needs of sectors like industrial application, e-logistics and supply chain management, finance industry application, communication, e-health, tourism and hospitality.
As for the CSR category, the organization is looking for applications that would help support Asean states in the promotion of the rights of a particular group; improve well-being and quality of life.
The digital content category, on the other hand, looks for applications that relate to the process of combining text, sound, pictures and videos. As for start-up companies, the organization is looking for innovative and potentially superior ICT product that is still in the early stage of inception. Applicants in this category should be registered.
