AN EXCLUSIVE distributor of global sporting brands is confident of increasing its sales in Cebu with the Cebuanos’ strong inclination for sports, including golf.
Christopher Tang, president and chief executive officer of Dynamic Sports Corp., said in an interview that Cebu has always been the company’s preferred location for expansion not only because of its thriving economy, but also because of its positioning as one of the sports destinations in the country. Cebu recently hosted the Cobra Ironman 70.3 triathlon.
Tang said they were encouraged into expanding in Cebu because of the strong presence of golf enthusiasts here.
Dynamic Sports Corp. opened its 11th branch nationwide in the Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu last Tuesday.
Tang said the company spent from P30 million to P40 million for its first mall-based store in Cebu. The store carries products of three leading golf brands.
Dynamic Sports Corp. is the exclusive distributor of Titleist and Footjoy products in the Philippines. The company also said it added Cobra Puma Golf to its golf sports business portfolio.
In April 2010, Puma AG purchased Cobra Golf, and created a new company Cobra-Puma Golf. The merger leverages Puma Golf’s footwear, apparel and accessories designs with Cobra Golf’s equipment and accessories.
Tang, who is also a golf player, said the store will cater to the needs of golf players in Cebu, including foreign golf enthusiasts like Koreans, which is the province’s leading foreign market.
Dynamics Sports Corp. said its sales grew 50 percent last year. This year, the company projected a growth of 20 percent. The company is set to increase marketing and promotions, store expansion and sponsoring of golf tournaments and golf-related activities in various areas of the country.
Aside from golf sports products, Dynamic Sports Corp. also carries products for racquet sports, water sports and outdoors. The company was established in 1988.
