AN INTERNATIONAL brand in home furnishing products is now in Cebu to encourage creativity in design among Cebuanos.
DwellStudio, a leader in the décor and bedding market, was launched on Friday in Rustan’s Ayala, its first outlet in Cebu.
“We’ve been told that Cebu is a tough market to penetrate since most shoppers are picky and are always looking for value. DwellStudio delivers the value,” said Quirks Marketing Philippines marketing manager Anne Gretchen Choa-Uy.
“We aim to provide Cebu with the same exact products in Manila,” she added.
Quirks Marketing Philippines (QMP) is the exclusive distributor of DwellStudio in the country. QMP has been in partnership with Rustan’s for the last five years. All Rustan’s branches carry a complete collection of DwellStudio. QMP also supplies DwellStudio pieces to retailers, specialty stores, and baby and organic boutiques nationwide.
How people live
Currrently, QMP is the only DwellStudio distributor outside the United States and Canada with the complete home and baby line-up. The company was founded as Dwell Home Furnishings in 1999 by Christiane Lemieux.
According to Choa-Uy, Dwellstudio revolutionizes how people decorate spaces and, she hopes, will change the way they live.
DwellStudio is a blend of traditional and modern designs which explores color, pattern and form.
Generally, DwellStudio targets women, but they also cater to designers and decorators.
“With the economy, it’s hard to define and limit our clientele. We try to understand the growing market and address expectations, especially when it comes to pricing.
DwellStudio doesn’t even believe in celebrity endorsements. We let our customers feel our product literally and let it speak for itself,” Choa-Uy explained.
DwellStudio is focused on bedding, tabletop, baby and children accessories.
Wallpapers, books, stationeries, rugs and furniture were recently added to the assortment.
The peak season for home items is from May to July; for baby goods, October to November.
“We have a theory that Filipinos get married around December and January. So if the couple decides to have a baby right away, our baby stuff is also trending in
September,” said Choa-Uy.
