CEBU’S pride GT Cosmetics Manufacturing has made several breakthroughs in 2012.
Earlier in May of 2012, GT Cosmetics opened a P13-million manufacturing plant in Bulacan to be able to cater to the increasing demand of its proudly-Philippine-made beauty products both locally and internationally.
The manufacturing facility in Luzon produces 4,000 units of each product, similar to that of GT Cosmetics’ main plant in Liloan, Cebu.
“Our ever-growing clientele is assured of continuous flow of supply of our products now that our Luzon plant is operational,” said GT Cosmetics founder and national sales manager Engr. Leonora B. Salvane, who until now still has reservations in acknowledging that GT has already carved a niche in the Philippine beauty products industry.
Moreover, GT retail outlets will never run out of supply as the Cebu based beauty products company has tapped the services of Airlift Asia Inc. to be its exclusive freight forwarder nationwide.
Salvane said shipping of their products from their plants in Cebu and Bulacan to other parts of the country will have no more delays as Airlift Asia has guaranteed a zero-delay service.
Another milestone for GT in 2012 is the birth of the GT Carrot Lotion. GT Carrot Lotion is actually a 4-in-1 treatment as a sunblock, moisturizer, whitener, and scar/blemish concealer.
“It has been a long process to achieve this kind of 4-in-1 lotion,” said Salvane, who formulated the company’s products being a chemical engineer. “It has been through the constant clamor of GT users that pushed me to make this lotion. And finally, here it is!”
But the highlight in GT’s achievements in 2012 came late in December when the company ended the year with a record-breaking performance in sales. In 2012, GT Cosmetics registered a milestone sales level of 175 percent -- the highest GT has ever recorded.
Salvane attributed the increase in sales to the ever-growing number of satisfied GT users in the country and to the swelling number of retailing outlets and stores selling their products nationwide as well.
While the locally manufactured GT Bleaching Soap continues to strengthen its position as the most-preferred whitening soap of choice in the market today as reported by Watsons’ 2012 annual magazine issue, the GT Carrot soap remains as the company’s best-selling product of all time.
“Sales in Mindanao increased proportionately, aligned with nationwide sales growth as more outlets have opened for us. Thus, we had to get the logistics services of Airlift Asia to help us in the distribution of our products,” Salvane said.
“For 2013, we are looking forward to expanding our market abroad, and with the Mindanao market getting bigger, we might put up a manufacturing plant in the region,” Salvane added.
To celebrate its 2012 milestone achievements and to give thanks to the Almighty – GT stands for “God’s Talent, by the way – as well, GT tendered the grandest Christmas party ever for its employees and workers last December 20.
“It has been our sincere wish to provide the people with the best products possible since GT started its operations in 1944. And we could not have done it without the help and support of the people under our employ,” Salvane said.
These said milestones are a testament to GT customers’ trust and loyalty throughout the years, according to Salvane.
“Our customers’ confidence in our products inspires us to continuously give our best and serve them better in the years to come,” Salvane said. (PR)
