KTV bar opens 3rd Cebu outlet-A A +A

A CEBUANO businessman affiliated with about 20 corporations in the food and leisure sector nationwide launched over the weekend a third branch of the Wat Ever Family KTV bar at The Ridges in Mabolo, Cebu City.
Jim Anthony Uy, 30, said that in order to succeed, the bar’s management and staff will focus on the four critical factors of marketing: product, place, price and promotion.
The bar franchise, established in Cagayan de Oro in 2010 and extended to Dumaguete in October 2012, is another venture of Lokal Boyz, a group of entrepreneurs headed by Uy.
With Wat Ever Cebu still under observation, Uy said they will apply uniformity in all three branches as much as possible to keep the brand or service consistent.
Uy said that product-wise, the bar has a technological edge. Its sound system, adapted from Korea, creates a live concert atmosphere for customers, he said. Songs, which are updated every month, are also recordable and downloadable into a USB.
Uy said he is confident that the bar’s location, being a “chill-out” activity and commercial area altogether, could translate to good market reception, considering the presence of workplaces around. He said Mabolo is being revived as a dynamic entertainment venue in Cebu City.
He added that the Panagdait stretch is accessible to public jeepneys, making it easy for customers to locate Wat Ever.
The bar charges P88 per hour. Uy said its outlets, especially in Dumaguete, have logged incidents of 100 percent daily occupancy, attracting the targeted segments
which are families, barkadas, students and call center employees.
Pica-pica food are also available at Wat Ever from P60 to P220 for two to three persons, while drinks cost P30 to P1,900.
Uy disclosed that an initial investment of P300,000 went into setting up the 180-square-meter bar. Its 12 rooms, able to accommodate 15 persons maximum, have quirky tags that play on the expression “whatever”.
Uy said Wat Ever will have its grand opening by February, with Palawan as the next branch destination this April.
