POWER tool company Skil launched on Saturday in Barangay Pari-an, Cebu City its Paint the Town Red (PTTR) campaign, which aims to construct one basketball half-court in 40 selected barangays nationwide.
Skil will distribute power tools and hold workshops aimed at generating livelihood projects for participants.
PTTR kicked off in Barangay Bangkal in Makati City last Oct. 19. Barangay Pari-an is the first recipient of PTTR in Cebu City.
Renowned basketball coach Norman Black is the project’s ambassador. He is on his third year with the Skil team.
According to Bosch and Skil Power Tools Philippines brand manager Martin Valenzuela, PTTR’s aim is to create product awareness in the market for Skil and underscore the company’s contribution to the Philippine economy.
Skil is an American brand acquired in the early 1900s by Bosch Germany, a leading global supplier of industrial technology.
Valenzuela said that for the first time last year, Skil Asia equaled Europe in sales.
He said Southeast Asia is among the highest contributor to Skil’s growth worldwide.
He said that for the past five years, Bosch and Skil have been hitting their double digit minimum annual target.
Valenzuela cited innovation and distribution as major drivers to Bosch and Skil’s performance. He said the country’s bullish real estate sector also contributed to their growth.
Valenzuela said they will bring the project to Davao this April. He said they are also considering dragon boat and rowing for future campaigns.
Bosch and Skil have six outlets in Cebu and 80 channels across the country.
