AN INDEPENDENT IT services provider to enterprises collaborated with the world’s leading software provider to offer hosted productivity packages for small and medium businesses (SMB) nationwide.
DataOne Asia Philippines (DOAP) and Microsoft Philippines Inc. (MPI) launched in Cebu yesterday CloudSecure, DOAP’s latest Cloud product, which incorporates Microsoft solutions used by majority of businesses worldwide at an affordable subscription.
Cloud computing allows users to move network systems and data to a secure facility accessible from anywhere over the Internet.
CloudSecure features three Microsoft business communication tools tailored for Filipino SMBs: Microsoft Exchange for electronic mail; SharePoint, a file-sharing medium to organize company information; and Lync, a unified platform for instant messaging, voice and video calls.
At the press conference, MPI geo-expansion lead George Parrilla said that CloudSecure delivers MPI’s thrust in enabling local businesses to realize their full potential.
MPI managing director Karrie Ilagan expressed excitement about the recent project with DOAP, describing the innovation as a breakthrough hosting solution for professional and productive SMB operations.
DOAP chief executive officer Cyril Rocke agreed that technology-wise, SMBs need further attention considering they far outnumber big corporations in the Philippines.
What CloudSecure aims to communicate to SMBs, he said, is that professional email hosting and mobile synchronization are both mission-critical in projecting a credible business image.
“If you want to be treated seriously, you have to function securely and seamlessly,” said Rocke.
He assured data security thru DAOP’s ISO-certified data centers and servers spread across the board and diverse global clientele, which include influential companies in
banking and finance, shipping and logistics, IT and government.
A study of a non-profit trade association for information technology, CompTIA, revealed that technology is advancing SMBs to become more mobile, efficient and competitive.
According to the report, nearly one-third of SMBs monitored have adopted cloud computing technology.
CloudSecure is available at a monthly rate of P200 per user for at least five computers. A monthly subscription upgrade is possible at P300 per user inclusive of mobile synchronization and P700 per user for unified communication.
