Automate to compete, firms told-A A +A

A LOCAL application development company and business solutions provider is urging businesses to reassess their IT needs to identify opportunities for automation to create productivity gains and step up in the global competition.
Alliance Software Inc. on Friday introduced its newest product in the market called Edge Business Software, a full business automation suite that gives businesses “accurate and real-time data for efficient, maximized and profit-driven decision-making.”
Robert Cheng, president and chief executive officer of Alliance Software Inc., said changes in the business environment offer both opportunities and threats to businesses, regardless of size. He said they now face new competition and only those efficient and effective will survive.
“Clients now are becoming more demanding in terms of quality and speed of service,” he said.
Te Jay Luna, assistant vice president of Alliance Software Inc., said that among the challenges of growing businesses are employee management, expansion of branches or offices where a secure communication is an issue, growing client base, cash flow management, new market trends and mandatory compliances.
Given the complexity of business processes, Luna urged companies to pursue strategies such as automation, which cuts cost, save time and increase productivity.
“Automation in the business processes is the key for fast growing companies to compete with the national and global players. This is one way companies get an edge over competition,” said Cheng.
He urged Filipino-owned companies to engage in automation as preparation for more business activities in the country as a result of its unprecedented growth. He said foreign investors are eyeing the Philippines as viable investment destination.
To cope with changing market requirements, Cheng said they have created a product that he said is the most complete, cost-effective and reliable business automation suite.
He said it is designed for fast-growing local businesses so they can be at the top of their game.
He said that unlike other one-size-fits-all solutions, Edge is a suite of business solution software that is flexible in terms of deployment and pricing models. It is available on the cloud, to give clients “anytime, anywhere access,” and on-premises to those who want to have their own servers.
The product also offers transaction-based payment schemes that save businesses from paying upfront costs and unnecessary investments.
According to Cheng, one strong selling point of Edge is that it was developed from the ground up with the growing Filipino business in mind.
He said it is highly-localized and government-accredited. It also has a strong after-sales support with 200 employees that offer nationwide coverage for support and maintenance.
Alliance was established in 2000 with offices in key markets like Tokyo, Manila and Cebu.
