THE rising interest of Cebuanos has led a local auto distributor to open a dealership of one of the most iconic European car brands.
Auto Global Inc. has opened a Mini auto dealership in Cebu so that fans of the brand need not go to Manila to buy these cars.
Auto Global president Lyndon Chua said they noticed Mini cars running around Cebu’s streets since last year. To have their cars maintained, service crews from Manila had to fly to Cebu to perform the regular maintenance work.
With their new service center expected to open this year, Lyndon and his brother Brian, who is the vice president of the company, expect Cebuanos to embrace the Mini brand.
“It is one of the most iconic car brands in the world. There is no car like it,” said Brian.
The brothers said those who like to have fun will be delighted with a Mini car, especially its most famous model, the Mini Cooper.
Aside from easy and responsive functions and safety and fuel-efficiency features, the car user can change the color of its interior lights to fit one’s mood. “These auto settings make it unique,” Brian said.
Lyndon added that the car design is meant to evoke fun that even kids notice it.
“If you drive a Mini, you’ll look 10 years younger,” he said, adding that the car designs always draw attention.
Lyndon said drivers know Mini as an easy car to drive and practical for everyday travel. Prices range from P1.9 million to P3.2 million, depending on the model and specifications.
Buyers who are willing to wait six months can order units that are customized to their preferences.
Although the showroom and service center along A.S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue City is still undergoing construction, they decided to put up a temporary display at the Ayala Center Cebu to let Cebuanos know that Mini cars are now available. Lyndon said they have been receiving inquiries from interested buyers and felt the need to let them know that all seven models are available.
The mall display will be until Oct. 20. Until the showroom and service center opens this December, cars will temporarily be displayed at the Subaru showroom.
Auto Global is also the local distributor of Subaru, Suzuki, JMC and Ford-Bohol.
