Unique design, good ratings bode well for The Henry: firm-A A +A

A BOUTIQUE hotel in Banilad is optimistic about capturing a good share of Cebu’s hospitality industry on the back of the province’s healthy tourism sector.
Despite the stiff competition, Mirro Reperuga, general manager of The Henry Hotel, believes they have an advantage in terms of hotel preferences in the city because they offer “a completely unique hotel experience” to domestic and foreign travelers.
“I believe we are the only true-blooded boutique hotel in Cebu, where room designs are unique from one to the other. No rooms are alike,” he said.
Reperuga said they attract young travelers who are into “out-of-the-box” hospitality.
The hotel management is optimistic they would capture a good share of Cebu’s hospitality market given the province’s growing economy and vibrant tourism sector.
Cebu logged over two million visitors in the first 10 months of 2013, up by 9.35 percent from the same period in 2012.
The Henry’s interior is a mix of European, vintage, industrial and rustic designs. It has wall murals ranging from Marilyn Monroe, Moroccan windows, a lady posing on her vintage convertible, brick rooms, to pastel and brightly colored walls.
Its 38 rooms range from Big, with 36 square meters (sq.m.) to Large (42 sq.m.), X-Large (72 sq.m.) and XX-Large (108 sq.m.). The hotel also has function rooms for meetings, presentations and small gatherings at Space 40, a room that can accommodate 40 people and Space 150, with 150 persons. The hotel is located at 1 Paseo Saturnino, Maria Luisa Road in Banilad.
The Henry is owned by the Innovoterra Properties, Inc. and managed by Hospitality International, Inc. (HII), a local management company in the hospitality industry operating for 15 years now.
The Henry is the first hotel owned and managed by the company in Cebu.
Reperuga said the boutique hotel has managed to consistently rank second best hotel out of 72 Cebu City hotels according to TripAdvisor in just a year of operations.
“This is a huge milestone given the competitive hospitality industry in Cebu City,” said Reperuga.
