OFFICIALS of Canon Marketing Philippines Inc. reported no drop in sales for its printer products despite widespread digitalization of photos and documents.
R-Ace F. Porlet, Canon Marketing Philippines marketing and training supervisor for consumer systems products division, said Canon is the market leader for inkjet printers. It currently holds a 41 percent market share in the Philippines versus other printer companies.
To attest to the sustained growth of Canon printers, Canon marketing senior sales manager for regional operations business imaging solution group Anthony T. Reganot said in an interview that the Visayas office has been consistent in hitting its P100 million monthly sales, with some months even surpassing the expected amount.
Reganot added Canon is also the market leader in Visayas for its printers, claiming roughly the same percentage as that of the national figure.
Last week, officials from Canon Marketing Philippines were in Cebu to launch Canon Pixma printer models.
“There’s no decline. The competition is really changing. If you notice, our printers are engineered to move forward. We have connection to various social media (sites)... wherein you can print (your photos) directly,” Porlet said.
He said Canon has developed WiFi printers capable of mobile printing.
With mobile printing, users can connect mobile devices to their printers via WiFi, and print photographs and documents directly from their mobile devices.
Four out of the six printers recently launched are WiFi-enabled.
Reganot said what made Canon printers sustained the advent of digitalization is its ability to “respond to the requirement of the market.” This include among other innovations Canon’s Wi-Fi printers.
“We understand nowadays that it’s wireless printing,” Porlet said.
In addition, Reganot said the company is also growing its presence in different areas through concept stores, which primarily sell Canon products to strengthen its leadership in the market.
