A NEW restaurant that allows customers to create their own pizza is opening in Lahug this month.
Giuseppe Genco, co-owner of Pizza Republic, said they will be introducing a new dining concept in Cebu that allows customers to decide what they want on their pizza from more than 60 different kinds of toppings at an affordable price.
“We are introducing a new concept that aims to raise the dining experience among the locals,” said Genco, who is also a chef and owner of Giuseppe Pizzeria and Sicilian Roast, a restaurant at Paseo Saturnino, Ma. Luisa Road in Banilad.
“Engaging our customers in creating their own pizza is one of our selling points,” he said.
Genco said he is confident the make-your-own pizza concept will become the next food destination in Cebu.
“Everybody eats pizza. We believe this kind of concept and service would be welcomed by the Cebuano market, given that this is something new and affordable,” he said.
Pizza Republic is a fast-service pizza outlet whose pizza is cooked in a wood-fired brick-oven, an authentic Italian way of preparing pizza. More than half of the ingredients of the pizza are imported from Italy.
Pizza price ranges from P200-250.
Asked about long-term plans, Genco said they plan to open four to five company-owned outlets this year. However, the expansion would depend on the performance of its flagship store.
Pizza Republic is operated under St. Hallett Food Ventures Inc.
