CONVERGYS’ recent acquisition of Stream has resulted in the two-award winning BPO companies joining forces to become a stronger, combined team. Together, Convergys and Stream will add 2,000 more employees in Cebu until the end of the year, including positions in customer service, technical support and sales.

The combination, as depicted in the company’s latest advertising campaign “Stronger as One,” will cement continued growth for Cebu’s talented workforce. Already the Philippines’ largest private employer since 2010, Convergys further grew its employee base in the country from 41,000 to 55,000 with the addition of Stream. Of this nationwide total, Cebu accounts for 12,500 employees today.

In Cebu, Convergys and Stream have eight operating centers including six in Cebu IT Park (Asiatown i1; two in i2; i3; TGU, and The Link buildings), one in Arcenas Estates (Banawa Hills), and another in J Center Mall (Mandaue).

They support top global brands in industries such as technology, finance, telecommunications, entertainment, retail, and healthcare. Job applications can be made at the Recruiting Centers in IT Park- i2 and the Link buildings, J Center Mall, and are also accepted online via the company website – convergys.com, Facebook, and job search portals like JobStreet.

Combined, Convergys and Stream now have a total of 34 sites nationwide, including those in Baguio, Pampanga, Manila, Laguna, Bacolod and Davao.

“We are excited by the growth this combination brings to our current as well as future
employees, and the communities where we live and work. Coming together with Stream has made Convergys Corporation a USD 3 billion global company, and a more formidable presence across the world,” said Ivic Mueco, senior vice president and Convergys Philippines country manager.

“Beyond enabling significant expansion in our client base, global footprint and capabilities, the acquisition brought together two companies with a shared culture and commitment to caring for our people. Investing in talent development is intrinsic to us, for which we have both been recognized as top employers,” Mueco said.

Convergys was recently named to the International ICT Awards Hall of Fame for winning Employer of the Year three times. In 2013, Convergys was recognized ICT Company of the Year and Stream, ICT Employer of the Year. As part of the latest campaign, the public and employees who are fans of Convergys Philippines on Facebook are invited to join the “Stronger as One” fan sign contest. For a chance to win an iPhone 5C or an Android tablet, interested parties simply have to submit a photo of themselves holding a creative fan sign stating “Convergys and Stream - Stronger as One.” Submissions are being accepted until May 28.
