New deal with Globe

The Cebu ICT/BPM Conference and Expo is one of the major events in line with the CBM 2014 activities organized by the CCCI.

Also in time for Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2014, Globe myBusiness, the small and medium enterprise unit of Globe Telecom, signed a memorandum of agreement with CCCI officials last Friday.

“Our partnership will enable us to become more involved in their business requirements. We want to know if there’s any business requirement that remains unserved, which we can help them solve,” said Globe myBusiness emerging channels head Michelle Ora.

The CCCI is its first partner-chamber in the Philippines.

CBM 2014 publicity and promotions chair Lilu Aliño said the partnership with Globe myBusiness will enable more of their members to adopt technology or communication tools that will benefit them.

“We are aligning our goals with theirs. We want to take advantage of the business solutions that they are offering to increase our (member-companies’) profits, improve security and also business efficiency,” Aliño said.

Globe myBusiness currently offers six business solutions in the market, according to Ora.

Payments by smart phone

One of them is Globe Charge, which provides customers with a credit card payment terminal they can directly attach to their mobile phones. This would enable business owners to accept MasterCard payments via smart phones and tablets.

Ora said they have P499 and P999 plans under this service.

Globe myBusiness also has CCTV bundles. Its products are capable of remote viewing, alarm system, video calling, night vsision, and motion detection.

Globe myBusiness was launched last March as the new brand for the Globe Small and Medium Business Group, Ora said. It will seek to forge ties with other chambers in the country to better serve business owners’ needs.

“We want to grow this (SME) segment,” Ora said.

Globe myBusiness is also sponsoring the entrepreneurship seminars during CBM 2014.

Entrepreneurship seminars will be held on June 10 (Building a National Brand and Going Nationwide) in the Cebu City Marriott Hotel; on June 17 (Competing in the Global Space) in Harold’s Hotel; and on June 24 (Basics in Successful Exporting) in the Cebu Grand Hotel. (PR)
