THE government’s national broadband plan (NBP), which may be rolled out in 2018, might answer every Filipino’s need for better internet service.
E-commerce advocate and digital influencer Janette Toral expressed support for the national broadband plan of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), saying this will support the country’s need for faster internet.
Toral said investment in infrastructure will no longer be shouldered by the private sector, but with the government, which will build network infrastructure that will be leased to the telco players.
Based on the DICT proposal, the NBP will cost the government between P77 and P200 billion to execute.
