THE Cebu Blue Marlins swimmers dominated the G-League swimming competitions over the weekend in Bohol after posting 2,314 points.
The CBM of coach Rolando Alvarez hauled 72 gold, 38 silver and 33 bronze medals to take the overall title. Silliman University was a distant second with only 691 points, while host Bohol Dolphins settled at third with 621.

Leading the Cebuanos’ charge were Cebu Eastern College’s Anthony Linn Navarro and University of Cebu’s Noel Cañeda and Paula Abigail Vega, who won the bulk of the team’s gold medals with five each.
Navarro topped the 400-meter and 100m freestyle, 100m individual medley, 50m breaststroke and 200m backstroke in his age division.
Cañeda won the 400m free, 100m IM, 50m breaststroke, 200m back and 100m freestyle, while Vega won the 400m free, 100m IM, 200m butterfly, 200m backstroke and 100m freestyle events of her age bracket.
The medley teams also came out victorious in the 4x50m girls 13-14 division and boys and girls 15 and over age groups.
Fritz Tamara won two gold medals in the 400m freestyle and 50m breaststroke and three silvers in the 100m IM, 200m backstroke and 200m butterfly events. The other gold medalists were Gian Paolo Bagano, Anthony Rey de la Peña, Cielo Osorio and Joyce Huguete.
