A NEW training and review center opened in Cebu City to provide new ways in the way reviews for the nursing board examinations are given.
Apex Global (AG) Network Solution Inc., which was launched last Friday, aims to provide consulting and enhancement services in the field of nursing to facilitate and produce top caliber young professionals.

“With the limitation and gradual decline of the country’s existing educational system, we provide innovation and solu-tion...in the way nursing reviews are given,” Richard Dayrit, academic director of the company, said during the launch.
Dayrit added that in a country where 50,000 nurses are produced in an academic year and where board passers barely reach 50 percent since 1995, Apex has devised and customized programs to develop the best board exam performance of nursing graduates.
Commission on Higher Education Commissioner Nona Ricafort lauded the efforts of Apex to help nursing graduates pass the Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE). However, she challenged them to focus not only on nursing.
Ricafort, who graced the launching, said Apex as well as other review centers in the country should also offer review programs and skills training on Hotel and Restaurant Management, Criminology, Information Technology, Education and Entrepreneurship.
Opening
Apex will also be opening a review and training center in the field of customs brokerage and logistics.
Although customs brokerage may not be as popular as nursing, Iñigo Larrazabal, a member of the review center’s board of directors, said it is still an equally important career. “Being a customs broker is like being a lawyer, an engineer, and an accountant,” he added.
Apex, which tied up with the Customs Logistics Academy of the Philippines, an institution based in Manila, will be the first review center in Cebu to offer reviews for customs brokerage exams.
But for now, it will focus on a nursing review program.
Larrazabal, said if the result of the recent NLE is an indication of the decline of the educational system in the country, it should be a cause for alarm.
“It seems that the current standard and education traditions are not working as effectively as they should. Innovation as always is the answer for every stagnant and gradually becoming ineffective system,” said Larrazabal.
To augment the students’ learning experience, Larrazabal said the company will be providing up-to-date, precise and timely information and knowledge for the students in preparation for the next NLEs.
