ON ITS second year now, Electrolux partners with ABS-CBN and Metro Gaisano Ayala in hosting the biggest charity washing marathon in Cebu City.

The event dubbed as “A Thousand Kilos More of Old Clothes and Fresh Starts,” is a charity washing marathon held at the Metro Ayala sidewalk.

Updates on President Benigno Aquino III's presidency

From July 30 to Aug. 1, clothing donations were accepted at the baggage counters of Metro Ayala and Metro Mandaue.

These clothes were then washed, ironed, and folded during the Electrolux Charity Wash Event last Aug. 13.

Ten pairs of Electrolux washers and dryers and an ironing station were set up during the event, showcasing Electrolux’s commitment to total fabric care.

The event is sequel to last year’s award-winning event, “A Thousand Kilos for Heavy Loads and Lighter Hearts.”

This year’s washing marathon beneficiary is the charity institution of ABS-CBN, Tabang Patrol. ABS-CBN Cebu news anchor Atty. Haide Acuña was present during the event.

“We used to just donate clothes before. Now, we added care and thoughtfulness to the event by washing, drying and ironing the clothes so we will turnover fresh clothes for donation,” said Terry Sales, Electrolux Philippines marketing manager.

The event was bigger and better this year with Cebuanos donating even more generously.

Electrolux was able to collect 5,000 kilos of clothes.

The Cebu Charity Washing Marathon is part of the Electrolux Wash-a-Palooza campaign, a fun-filled series of activities that celebrates Electrolux innovative washer and dryer lines through exciting promos, fun surprises and of course, giving back to charity.
