CONGRATULATIONS to Liza Sofia Hansen for winning first runner-up in the Princess Int’l. 2017 pageant held in Thailand last July.

At the presscon held at the family-owned Cordova Home Village before the pageant, I already felt she would go places based on her beauty, wit and intelligence. Go reach your dreams, Liza Sofia!

Happy 448th Founding Day celebration to the province of Cebu. The founding date falls on Sunday this year. As in the past four or five years, the Ironman international triathlon is held during this time.

The box-office success of Kita Kita was unexpected especially because its lead stars, Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez, have no fan bases to speak of.

This could be the reason why Star Cinema, which released the movie produced by Piolo Pascual’s Spring Films, followed it up immediately with Finally Found Someone which is top-billed by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, both having established box-office strengths. As it turned out, both movies are fighting it out in the box-office.

With the success of Kita Kita, I hope Piolo and company will gain more momentum, drive and inspiration to produce projects of similar excellence. Hopefully also, the movie-going public will finally mature and patronize projects not merely because the cast includes their favorite actors but more importantly because these are of good quality. May this development usher in a new era in local movie production and patronage.

Can we count on you to share the same enthusiasm, interest, excitement and support?
