Tour confab goes green

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 23, at the Plenary Hall, Cebu International Convention Center, an estimated 500 delegates and guests will participate in the 15th Tourism Congress. The even is organized by the CCCI tourism team, in partnership with the Province and the City of Cebu, Department of Tourism, Commission on Higher Education Region 7, Cebu Visitors Convention Bureau, Ayala Center Cebu, SM City Cebu, Island Souvenirs, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and Speechcom International as the major sponsors . The congress tackles the values of the environment in ecotourism with demonstrations by practitioners, to serve as framework in creative tour packages and entrepreneurship.

Delegates are requested to arrive on time (on-site registration is from 7 a.m.-8 a.m. and opening thereafter), so the program can start promptly. They are also encouraged to come in hues of green or brown in keeping with the theme, Go Green Cebu (prizes are at stake for this). Pre-registered/paid participants will have better chances at getting special kits (limited to 500).

At stake are major prizes: one round-trip ticket Cebu-Hong Kong-Cebu, sponsored by the Philippine Airlines; and domestic tickets, from Cebu Pacific. (The other sponsored tickets will be given on June 25, at the Grand Chamber Awards). There are so many minor prizes from leading hotels/airlines and travel agencies.
