Annual Writers’ Fellowship tilt opens

THE Cebuano Studies Center announced the opening of its 2011 fellowship competition.
The center will award about 15 creative writing fellowships to the Cornelio Faigao Memorial Annual Writers Workshop every October.

The Faigao workshop has started receiving entries last July 1. It runs until Aug. 30.

Regular mail submissions must be postmarked Aug. 30 to be eligible for screening.
Applicants may submit a suite of seven poems, a short story or a one-act play, in either English or in Cebuano.
Writing samples will not be returned.
One may submit the following requirements to Cornelio Faigao Memorial Annual Writers’ Workshop, Cebuano Studies Center, University of San Carlos, P. del Rosario St., Cebu City or online to ang.paglaum@yahoo.ca.
Here are the requirements:
1. Entry
Entries must be typed double-spaced in Arial or New Times Roman font, size 12 with 1” margin on all sides.
Entries must not bear the name of the author.
A soft copy encoded in MS Word on CD.
2. Current resume with 2x2 photo
3. Application letter, which tells about the applicant, why he or she wants to be a writer, and how the applicant’s background will add a unique perspective to the literary arts.
