THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) 7 in Cebu City is now accepting applications for the education for development scholarship program (EDSP) for school year 2012-2013.

EDSP is a scholarship grant offered to qualified dependents of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who shall enroll in any four or five college degree courses at any Commission on Higher Education-accredited colleges or universities.

Scholarship grantees shall receive a financial assistance amounting to P30,000 per semester or a maximum of P60,000 per school year.

The OFW-parent or OFW-sibling, however, must be a current or active Owwa member.

Applicants will have to undergo the national qualifying exam to be administered by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The date and venue of the exam will be announced later.

Today is the deadline to apply for scholarship.
