THE contemporary art group, Wawart, launched its first exhibit on Dec. 3 to Jan. 9, 2012 at the Bluewater Gallery, Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort in Lapu-Lapu City.
Entitled, “Sawum (Dive),” the art exhibit takes inspiration from the gallery’s pristine beach setting and, thus, attempts to reflect the “question of the elemental.”
The curate show features video art, sculptures, indoor and outdoor installations along with wall-bound works.
Live art performances highlighted the opening program, which was attended by 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Shamcey Supsup as the guest of honor.
Non-resort guests are requested to call Erik Monsanto at 492-0100 local 512, and arrange for an exhibit viewing appointment.
The Bluewater Gallery is an art gallery that features works by Philippine artists.
The gallery aims to promote Philippine arts and provide its resort guests with a glimpse of local culture and its talents. It also provides a venue for local artists to showcase their works to both local and international audiences.
The gallery also hosts events and workshops as part of its art appreciation and educational goals. The participating artists are Josua S. Cabrera, Rio Villegas and Noel Villaflor of Sun.Star Cebu Radel Paredes, Nomar Miano, Katherine Rivera, Crezzo Paz, RV Sanchez, Jeffrey Sisican, Patricia Zosa, Jay Jore and Sam Despi.
