Group serves 2T residents in a medical mission in Argao

A TOTAL of 2,800 residents in Argao town, Cebu benefited from a medical mission conducted by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists Philippines (AACE Philippines) headed by their president, Dr. Gerry H. Tan last Nov. 28.
The G.O.O.D (goiter, obesity, osteoporosis, diabetes) doctors outreach activity was held at the President Diosdado Macapagal Complex.
The beneficiaries were given free medical services and consultations on different endocrine diseases with free blood screenings for fasting blood sugar and cholesterol, screening for osteoporosis, urinalysis, ECG and ankle brachial index, and dietary counseling with the help of AACE Philippines corporate partners.
All the beneficiaries went home with smiles on their faces as they brought with him various medicines, including flu vaccination to 500 patients.
Cold milk beverages and around 600 gift packs were also distributed to patients as AACE Philippines early Christmas gifts.
The medical mission was organized with the support of elected officials of Argao headed Mayor Edsel Galeos; the AACE Philippines organization under its president Dr. Gerry H. Tan; Dr. Augusto D Litonjua, the president emeritus and the organization’s officers and board of directors, as well as the 46 member-doctors, who flew in from different regions of the country, and the 30 volunteer-resident doctors from Cebu Doctor’s University Hospital department of internal medicine.
The event was also made with the support of organization’s pharmaceutical partners who donated medicines, free services and manpower.
