THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) approved the request of Mactan-based Indiana Aerospace University (IAU) to perform the dropping of flowers during the fluvial parade on Jan. 14 from 6 to 11 a.m.

In order not to disrupt the take off and landing of commercial flights at the Mactan Airport, CAAP allowed IAU to use the airspace of Mactan-Cebu harbor channel at an altitude of 500 feet.

Capt. Stephen E. Toring, IAU chief pilot, appealed to all Sto. Niño devotees to send their flowers and prayer petitions already packed in sacks on or before Jan. 14 to the following designated areas: Basilica del Sto. Niño, Cebu City; St. Therese of Lisieux church, IAU Town Center, Lapu-Lapu City; IAU Aerodome, Ormoc City Airport (for Leyte devotees); and Indiana Condotel, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.

Due to the sanctity of the event, devotees may inquire from Capt. Toring, pilot in command of RPC-50, at 0927-8611698 and Capt. Justin Castro, pilot in command of RPC-2891, at 0933-1587957 as to the schedule of the dropping of flowers and petitions.

For more information on fluvial procession, one may call Indiana School of Hotel and Tourism at 316-0750.
