MCWD aids Sendong victims in CDO
Thursday, January 19, 2012
WHEN Cagayan de Oro (CDO) was in need of all the help it could get because of the wrath of Typhoon Sendong, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) was among the first to lend a helping hand.
On Dec. 23, MCWD sent two water trucks to CDO with eight personnel to man it round-the-clock.

MCWD general manager Armando Paredes said he coordinated with the water district in CDO, and was told that they have enough water but they had a problem with distribution.
This prompted him to send two of the five water trucks of MCWD.
Aside from the manpower, MCWD also shouldered the expenses for the fuel of the two vehicles.
The shipping firm, ATS Consolidated Inc., also allowed the shipment of the trucks for free and gave free tickets to the MCWD personnel.
The eight-man team worked in tandem on a 12-hour shift until after New Year. They were Tomas Dinoy, Romeo Castañares, Virgilio Rago Jr., Jovelito Nuñez, Sidney Clark Mancao, Allan Claros, Nelson Cabingatan and Benvienido Perialde, all of the production and distribution department of MCWD.
They came home on Jan. 4 with a fulfilled feeling of being able to help even if it meant they had to be away from their families during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
