PTA federation presidents in CV convene to plan out 2012 activities

FEDERATION presidents of the Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs) in Central Visayas, together with the Department of Education (DepED)-PTA focal persons, convened on Dec. 28 at the Ecotech Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City, for the mid-year assessment (July to December 2011) on the operations of PTAs at the school level, and the preparation of division PTA implementation plan for January to June 2012.

A total of 27 officials attended the activity. There were 10 out of 19 division PTA federation presidents and 15 out of 19 who showed up.

They worked collaboratively in diagnosing feedback and evaluating progress of programs and projects implemented and initiated by PTAs at the school level.

The mid-year assessment of PTA operations provides significant data in strengthening partnership between PTA and school officials, and improving their capability in handling PTA programs and projects for the improvement of children’s academic performance.

Investment

“The education of our children is an investment,” DepEd Director Recaredo G. Borgonia said.

Borgonio also asked the parents to support the K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Program.

Borgonia recognized the efforts of the PTAs, who have given their support in implementing programs and projects for the schools.
