Islands Souvenirs: Cebu loves you this love month

THIS love month, Islands Souvenirs brings another attention to another kind of fondness: love of place for the place that has loved us back.

Islands Souvenirs’ I Heart campaign was launched two years ago on the same premise: allowing people to literally wear their hearts on their sleeves for the love of Cebu. The trend caught on and was backed by several personalities with established careers and who have made Cebu their home. Since then, the personalized shirts have been rolled out to other key travel destinations under the Islands Souvenirs brand.

This year, Islands Souvenirs takes these personalized shirts further by celebrating love for Cebu – or maybe, the other way around.

“Cebu has been very good to us,” enthuses Jay Aldeguer, the brand’s chief executive officer along with other travel-related enterprises under The Islands Group of Companies. “It’s a place that has nurtured our passions very well and is the perfect breeding ground for culture, business, or just simply anything under the sun.” He also cites incidences of expats who have relocated to and settled down in Cebu where their businesses have flourished.

Others have shared a similar sentiment. Recently, Islands Souvenirs started using the #CebuLovesMe hashtag on Twitter (@IslandsSouvenir) , which has been retweeted by other true-blue Cebuanos and became a trending topic in the Philippines on Twitter. Tweeted Paulo Varela (@republikation): “#CebuLovesMe because she is my queen! I am proud to brand myself with my love of home and I know she loves me back!” Mia Bontol, blogging from bravethewaves.net, also tweeted, “wherever I go, I carry a piece of home with me because I know #CebuLovesMe.”

Islands Souvenirs is spreading the Cebu love with new personalities such as Celebrity Mom Annabelle Rama, Azkals goalkeeper Paolo Pascual, designer Vania Romoff, Cover Girl Janet Emmrich, and Sonicboom producer Phatboy Lim. The brand is also bringing back the spotlight on previously featured personalities in the coming months.
