Search for Model PNP Families launched

THE National Police Commission (Napolcom) launched this year’s search for Model Philippine National Police (PNP) Families.
Lawyer Zandro Oriol, Napolcom 7 information officer, said the award aims to emphasize the importance of strong ties of police officers to their families.
The candidates may be nominated in the family category or solo police parent category by any member of the local government units, non-government organizations or any PNP office.
Oriol said the winners will get cash incentives, recognition and benefits.
“This is a national award. We are now accepting nominations as the award proper will be on September,” he said.
Oriol hopes that many police officers will get nominated in Central Visayas. Last year, Oriol said, there was only one nominee that reached the national level.
For the PNP Model Family Award, the candidate should be legally married for at least 10 years and must be in the service for at least 10 years.
For the PNP Solo Parent Award, the applicant police officer may be a widower or legally separated for at least five years.
The search is open to all qualified uniformed PNP personnel in the national, regional, provincial, city, or municipal levels.
Uniformed police personnel who have been nominated in the previous year but were not declared winners in the national level may be nominated.
Nomination forms and guidelines may be downloaded from the Napolcom website at www.napolcom.gov.ph and from the Napolcom regional offices.
