Chu Un Temple joins Gabii sa Kabilin

THE Fo Guang Shan Chu Un Temple announced its participation in today’s Gabii sa Kabilin 2012 organized by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc.
Chu Un Temple has lined up the following activities and exhibits for this event:
lSiddhartha, a musical journey towards enlightenment, which has been one of the many ventures of Chu Un Buddhist Temple and BLIA Cebu chapter. The musicale will showcase an entirely Cebuano cast. The play is directed by Daisy Ba-ad;
lBuddhist culture and practice, particularly Buddhism, one of the oldest religions in the world;
lLittle Buddha Bathing. Fo Guang Shan upholds the three acts of goodness-to say good words, to do good deeds, and to think good thoughts. This is creatively displayed in the bathing of the little Buddha. The bathing of the little Buddha will be done in the Guan Yin shrine of Chu Un Temple with Ven. Yong Ling. It is also at this point where guests and devotees may offer flowers to the Buddha;
lChildren story-telling and film showing, which will feature history of Fo Guang Shan and how founder, Ven. Master Hsing Yun, managed to develop and progress the monastic order through ardent toil and cultivation and;
lOne-stroke Calligraphy.
All these activities can be viewed at the third floor of the Di Zhang Shrine, with Chu Un Temple Abbess, Ven. You Lin.
Souvenir and refreshment stalls are also located at the bamboo garden dining hall just behind the Guan Yin shrine.
The history of Chu Un Temple, which was constructed in 1988, will also be featured in today’s event.
