Free health services offered at CBM

THE public is invited to avail of the free health services provided by the organizers of Cebu Business Month’s (CBM) Beauty, Health and Wellness Show 2012.

The event will be held at the Ayala Activity Center starting today until Sunday.

All the activities will be held during mall hours.

Today’s activities are the bloodletting of the Philippine Red Cross and the dental mission to be initiated by the Philippine Dental Association (PDA)-Cebu chapter and the Southwestern University.

The services include dental health education, scaling and polishing (oral prophylaxis), atraumatic restorative treatment and topical fluoride treatment.

Tomorrow will be the free wellness check-up and assessment survey questionnaire, while on June 3, the activities are blood typing, random blood sugar, and blood pressure-taking by Total Health Desk Diagnostics and Massage by the IPI Foundation and the Alay Lakad Foundation.

From June 1 to 3, the ICanServe Foundation, Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., and the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center will put up a “Pink Booth” for consultation and counseling, and breast and cervical screening.

On Sunday, the public is also called to join the Zumba party organized by the Holiday Gym Spa at 7:30 p.m.

The Wushu Foundation of the Philippines-Cebu, on the other hand, will hold a Tai Chi exercise every 6 a.m. starting today until Sunday at the Ayala Terraces.

The sponsors of the series of activities are Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City Marriott Hotel, International Pharmaceutical Inc. (IPI), Montebello Villa Hotel, ROX-Back Joy and Slendertone.

Celebrities Anthony Pangilinan and Cristalle Belo Henares are also expected to deliver wellness talks tomorrow at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

Pangilinan will dwell on “Strengthening the Family” in his capacity as chief trainer of the Inspire Leadership Consultancy Inc. The company is the official licensee of all John Maxwell and Zig Zaglar corporate programs in the Philippines.

Henares is a successful young entrepreneur who graduated from the University of Western Australia, with a master’s degree in business administration. She is the managing director of Intelligent Skin Care Inc., and the brains behind skin care lines Belo Essentials, Belo Men, and Belo Nutraceuticals.

Other speakers include Dr. Ester Velasquez on “Defining the Real Cebuano,” Archt. Joy Martinez Onozawa on “Sustainable Development and Healthy Environment,” Marissa Puche on “Creating a Culture of Peace,” Conrad Perreras on “Corporate Wellness,” and Dr. Glenda Basubas on “Developing a High EQ.”

There will be a fee of P1,000 for interested participants, inclusive of snacks, lunch, and conference kits.
