ABOUT a month after their deployment, the registered nurses hired under the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth) customer assistance, relations, and empowerment staff (Cares) project facilitated a number of members’ concerns as they avail of their benefits in hospitals.
The primary objective of the PhilHealth Cares project is to entertain the concerns of the members and empower them by providing essential information on benefits,
membership, eligibility, accreditation process, and other PhilHealth-related concerns.
PhilHealth 7 hired 31 registered nurses who underwent a comprehensive training on PhilHealth policies and programs.
The nurses are tasked to assist PhilHealth members about their membership, especially in availing of benefits and filing of benefit claims in PhilHealth accredited hospitals.
Rotation
Some of these nurses are permanently deployed, while others go on a weekly or monthly rotation in hospitals.
The nurses were also trained to educate members on the importance of commitment to the sustainability of the National Health Insurance Program and to conduct surveys and studies developed by PhilHealth.
At present, the PhilHealth Cares attend to members in 23 hospitals in Cebu Province and in seven hospitals both in the provinces of Bohol and Oriental Negros.
