PUPILS of Kalawisan and Canjulao Elementary Schools in Lapu-Lapu City will soon get nourished through the Kain Po! Campaign of Century Pacific Group-Ricardo S. Po Foundation (CPG-RSPo), with the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (Cite) as its feeding partner.
During the campaign launching in two schools recently, over 100 children were given supplementary meals prepared by the elementary teachers and parent volunteers.
The supplementary feeding, which is conducted in line with the observance of the Nutrition Month this July, will be done thrice a week to provide free lunch to the pupils. The beneficiaries’ weights, grades, and attendance will be monitored monthly to ensure their progress.
The dishes used CPG products such as Century tuna, corned beef, and sardines mixed with vegetables so that pupils get their daily serving of healthy food.
The two schools are the latest addition to the beneficiaries of the program. Cite and CPG have ongoing feeding programs in Marigondon Elementary School, Babag II Elementary School, Buaya Elementary School, Pajac Elementary School, Bagong Silang Elementary School, Banilad Elementary School, Cabancalan 1 Elementary School, Cabancalan 2 Elementary School, San Jose Day Care Center, Leonard Wood Elementary School, Canduman Elementary School, Budlaan Integrated School, Budlaan Elementary School, and Cubacub Elementary School.
Concerns
The CPGroup-RSPo Foundation is the socio-civic arm of Century Canning that aims to address the concerns on hunger and malnutrition, education and the environment.
The CPG also engages in other corporate social responsibility programs such as educational scholarships, poverty alleviation, and helping the less privileged.
The foundation has launched its “Kain Po” Campaign, which stands for Kalusugan At Isipan Naalagaan, to officially brand the foundation’s feeding program.
