‘Smarter Way to Doing Business’ forum set

IN ITS drive to make business more efficient and competent, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) has organized a forum dubbed as “Get Into the Cloud: A Smarter Way of Doing Business” on July 24 at 2 p.m.

It is intended for companies wanting to minimize information technology (IT) infrastructure maintenance costs by running businesses more smartly using cloud technologies.

“Since the advent of the Internet, business is getting more efficient. But, with information available in a click of a mouse or in a touch of a screen, competition is also getting fiercer. ECCP wants to provide the business community, especially its member companies, with the latest on inexpensive but strategic alternatives,” explained Roselu Paloma, ECCP Cebu branch manager.

Jennifer Reed is forum’s keynote speaker. She authors Office 365 for Dummies, a trade book based on a revolutionary Microsoft technology that allows individuals and companies of all sizes to create and maintain a virtual office in the “cloud,” which refers to the Internet.

Reed is the program manager of Microsoft Corp. headquarters in Greater Seattle area.

She is also the founder and president of Cloud611 (www.cloud611.com), a Seattle-based company providing web design and development services, strategic media consulting, and small business cloud solutions using Microsoft technologies.

For many years, Reed has provided consulting services to small businesses and non-profit organizations on technology solutions, creative communications, database design, web design and development, SharePoint implementation, and project management.

Reed is a PMI-certified project management professional and certified scrum master who excels at translating ambiguous requirements into actionable strategies and measurable projects.

There will be a forum fee of P350 for each participant.
