THE Coalition for Better Education (CBE), in collaboration with Globe Telecom, will conduct a two and a half days peer coaching program at the Center for Teacher Excellence, Cebu Normal University campus, Cebu City.
A total of 30 selected proficient teachers representing various regions all over the country will troop to Cebu City on Aug. 1-3 to learn about the basics of peer coaching.
Although, the program is still new in the Philippines, peer coaching has been proven in western countries to be an effective strategy to enhance and develop the skills of teachers leading to improved classroom performance and student learning.
The modules used in the program are based on Microsoft and peer-ed’s peer coaching program. It is used worldwide in most partner schools.
A special session on effective communication skills and art of questioning will be conducted by the “Globe University Experts”–a unique employee volunteer program that
allows the telecom firm’s employees to share their expertise in a given focus area.
The event is part of Globe Telecom’s global Filipino teachers program that aims to develop the information and communications technology competency skills of teachers in the teaching and learning environment.
