A TOTAL of 58 volunteers from the various departments of Lear Corp. recently climbed up the slopes of Sitio Cantipla to conduct a tree-planting activity, in cooperation with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
The activity was held as part of Lear’s corporate environmental awareness program, in partnership with PBSP’s Cebu hillylands reforestation caravan.
After the orientation on proper handling and planting of the seedlings, the volunteers started their way up to the designated area for planting.
The group was able to plant 2,500 indigenous and fruit bearing trees.
The tree-planting activity is held annually by Lear through their environmental protection committee.
In 2011, Lear, in partnership with the Luyang Elementary School, the activity was held in Carmen, Cebu, where 200 trees were planted.
Lear Corp. is committed to continue this activity, among others, in its dedication to environmental protection and improvement through management example and employee involvement and empowerment.
