WITH the aim of promoting local meat and supporting local industry players, the first Phil-San (Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists) Fun Run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16 at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu in Cebu City.
The event theme is “We Love Our Local Meat.”
It is organized by the Philippine Society of Animal Nutritionists Visayas-Mindanao chapter, in cooperation with the Central Visayas Pork Producers Cooperative.
Raquel Dolina, an event committee member, said the fun run is also a way to promote a healthy living approach to the participants.
The event is open to all, but prizes will only be given to local runners.
“This is also in line with our theme…in support to local runners. But foreigners are welcome to join,” she said.
The registration fee ranges from P300 to P700 depending on the distance the participant would like to run.
The categories are 3K, 5K, 15K and 25K. The starting point for each category is in Ayala Terraces, and call time is 3 a.m.
The proceeds of the event will be used to finance programs that will improve the production and efficiency of animal raisers.
Interested participants may register or inquire at Runnr in Ayala Center Cebu or at the Abellana Sports Center, or call 0922-8579283/0933-9420579.Iseult Kyllie T. Capacio, UP Mass Comm student
