DTI accepts requests from firms to inspect MC helmets of workers

COMPANIES in Central Visayas can now submit a request to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial offices for inspection of their employees’ motorcycle helmets to be done at their establishments.
All requests for inspection of motorcycle helmets may be submitted to the following provincial offices:
l Bohol Provincial Office at the 2nd floor, FCB Bldg., CPG Ave., Tagbilaran City, with contact number (63) (038) 501-8828;
l Cebu Provincial Office at the 3rd floor, LDM Bldg., corner M.J. Cuenco Ave. and Legaspi St., Cebu City, with contact number (63)(032) 412-1863 or 253-2631;
l Negros Oriental Provincial Office at the 2nd floor, Uymatiao Bldg., San Jose St., Dumaguete City, with contact number (63)(035) 422-5509; and
l Siquijor Provincial Office, Chan She Bldg., Legaspi St., Poblacion, Siquijor, Siquijor, with contact number (63) (035)480-8241.
Deadline for submission of requests for inspection of motorcycle helmets for private companies in the region is on Sept. 30.
The DTI decided to accommodate requests of private companies to facilitate inspection of helmets and issuance of import commodity clearance stickers to end-users.
Republic Act 10054, or the Mandatory Helmet Act of 2010, requires all motorcycle riders, including drivers and passengers, to wear standard protective motorcycle helmets.
