Mega Cebu, MCDCB tackled in BICC meet

CEBU Business Club president Gordon Allan Joseph presented the vision of the Mega Cebu Initiative and the framework behind the Metro Cebu Development Coordinating Board (MCDCB) during the Bosconian International Chamber of Commerce (BICC) Cebu’s 8th general membership meeting and fellowship held recently at the Aguinaldo Room of Cebu Grand Hotel, Barangay Capitol Site.
Joseph said Mega Cebu is composed of the 13 cities and municipalities of Cebu, including the cities of Danao and Carcar, as defined by the Regional Development Council and subscribed to by the MCDCB.
The rationale of the creation of MCDCB is to serve as a coordinating body for shared and trans-boundary challenges and responsibilities; as a platform for inter-local coordination and public-private sector collaboration; as a forum for national-local integration; and as a launch pad for collection action and impact, said Joseph, who is also the private sector representative of the board.
The board is headed by Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, who is representing the public sector, and Rafi president Roberto Aboitiz as co-chairperson.
Joseph encouraged the Bosconians to volunteer, participate and join the different focused area-based committees and sub-committees of the MCDCB.
